GlobeSoccer - Dubai 2011

Vão ser entregues hoje, no Dubai, os prémios referentes à segunda edição dos prestigiados Globe Soccer Awards. Entre os nomeados, encontram-se os portugueses Jorge Mendes (agente do ano) e F. C. do Porto (melhor estratégia de mercado). Sobre este último pode ler-se, no site oficial, o seguinte:

- Best club for transfer market operations and sporting results in the year

At the request of the ECA a prize is awarded to the club which has operated best on the football market, demonstrating the success of its management by means of its results on the field.

Candidates:

• Barcelona –  Winner of the Champions League and the Spanish Liga, despite the sale of Ibrahimovic, which the President called     “a disastrous deal”. The demonstration that in planning sporting success sometimes it is necessary to be able to sacrifice great talent.
•  Borussia Dortmund - Winner of the German Bundesliga after major upheaval and with a young coach.
•  Porto – Winner of the Europa League and the Portuguese championship, confirming the organisational skill and technical competence of its directors who were capable of rebuilding a team to compete in Europe under the young coach Villas Boas after the European victory obtained with Mourinho.

É mais um reconhecimento do prestígio internacional alcançado pelo Porto, e reconhecido em todo o mundo civilizado... No júri deste certame encontra-se também o português Luís Figo.
